Through classes and workshops, participants will explore several performance-related activities from dramatic mime to dance choreography. Participants interested in backstage roles will have opportunities to learn set design, create show programs, and discover what it means to be a stagehand, to name a few. This sampler series will surely engage you and convince you to stick around for ACT 2!

Main Stage Program

Super Stars: 18 years and up

We’ll provide adults an opportunity to model the importance of personal and professional growth by encouraging self-expression and learning how to set achievable goals, whether it be mastering a dance move or designing sets.

Emerging Stars: 12 – 17 years

This group will explore character development, puppetry, costuming, props and more while developing skills in collaboration, problem-solving, commitment and expression.

Aspiring Stars: 7 – 11 years

We’ll make connections between theatre and other areas of our life by developing communication skills, creative expression and learning through play.

Time: 6:00pm-6:45pm and 7:00-7:45pm

 Tiny Stars: 4 – 6 years

Together we’ll use our bodies, voices, and imagination to tell stories, share ideas and create magic on and off the stage!

School Stage Program

This is our newest School Spotlight Series!

Based on the Ontario Arts Curriculum, students will get a sample of the diverse theatre activities that exemplify its many cross-curricular benefits. This 10 week series can be adapted to meet the teacher’s curriculum goals as well as designed using a theme and approach that is suitable to both the needs of the students and classroom.

Workshops are offered as single visits or as a series. We’re excited to get everyone pumped to perform and keyed up to create!

Community Stage Program

We welcome the opportunity to collaborate and participate in events that support our local communities. Purple Stage Door Productions has been invited to inclusion camps, conferences, and guest workshops for a variety of groups and organizations. Some of our past event participation includes The City of Barrie Inclusion Camp, “Find Your Passion” day hosted by KidsAbility Centre for Child Development, and guest workshops at Milton Youth Theatre Productions and The Dance Ability Movement.
